ABOUT

The mission of “Iraq and US” is to explore the wide range of responses to the prospect of military action against Iraq. We come from a variety of disciplines -- historical, ethical, religious, legal, economics, the arts – and do not agree on every point. Yet given the complexity and gravity of the issue, we all agree that fostering a university-wide discussion about the implications of war is not only warranted but imperative. In keeping with the university’s goals “to engage the mind, elevate the spirit, and stimulate the best effort of all who are associated with the University,” and “to contribute in diverse ways to the local community, the state, the nation and the world,” we actively seek and encourage all viewpoints and voices.
